27.Filming Process and Challenges

During the filming process, I encountered several challenges that required problem-solving and adaptability. One of the main challenges was lighting, as some scenes initially appeared too dark or lacked clarity, particularly when filming in low-light environments to match the conventions of a psychological thriller. While darkness was important to create tension and atmosphere, it sometimes reduced visibility and made key details, such as facial expressions and props, difficult to see.

To overcome this, I experimented with the positioning and intensity of lighting. For example, I used practical lighting sources such as lamps and phone screens to create a more controlled and realistic effect. I also filmed certain scenes at different times of the day, such as during early evening rather than complete darkness, which allowed me to maintain the desired mood while still ensuring the footage was clear. This helped me balance realism with visual quality.

Another challenge I faced was maintaining continuity between shots. As filming took place across different days and locations, there were risks of inconsistencies in lighting, costume, and positioning. To address this, I regularly reviewed the footage during filming to ensure that each shot matched the previous one. I also paid attention to details such as character placement, props, and camera angles to ensure a smooth and believable sequence when editing.

Additionally, I found that directing performance was sometimes challenging, as I needed the actor to convey appropriate emotions such as confusion and fear without overacting. I addressed this by giving clear instructions and filming multiple takes, which allowed me to select the most effective shots during the editing process.

Despite these challenges, the filming process was ultimately successful. It allowed me to capture a range of effective shots, including close-ups, point-of-view shots and tracking shots, which are essential for building tension within a trailer. Overcoming these difficulties also helped me develop my problem-solving skills and improved the overall quality of my final product.
