6.Target Audience and Marketing Strategy
BLOG 6 — Target Audience & Marketing Strategy

For this blog, I conducted a full audience analysis to make sure my promotional package speaks directly to the people most likely to watch my film. Understanding the target audience is a professional step in any marketing campaign, and A2 Media Studies expects this level of strategic thinking.
My primary target demographic is 16–30-year-olds, a group known for high engagement with visual digital media. This age group regularly consumes film content through social media platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and streaming services. Their film preferences often depend on style and mood rather than genre alone, which influenced the aesthetic and emotional direction of my promotional materials.
I also explored psychographics, which look at personality, lifestyle, and values. If my film appeals to fans of emotionally intense stories, suspense, or character-driven drama, then the marketing must reflect that. This affects colour palette, typography, and even the pacing of a possible trailer.
To reach this audience, I outlined a marketing strategy that includes teaser images on social media, short-form trailer clips designed for TikTok and Instagram Reels, and a poster optimised for both digital and printed form. I also considered how releasing behind-the-scenes posts or character-focused promotional material might build audience connection.
A targeted strategy allows my promotional package to be more than just visually appealing — it becomes effective communication.
